Job Description

Job Summary
The Controller position is responsible for managing finance and accounting departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future.

Essential Duties
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance
• Prepare accurate and timely consolidated financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual review and annual budgets
• Assure Corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes, utilizing company CPA firm as needed.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company’s value, including but not limited to unit cost of products or services
• Respond to the CEO and Board Members and other senior executives as assigned with accurate and timely analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist them in performing their responsibilities
• Ensure that costs and purchases are analyzed
• Provide gross margin and fixed/variable cost analysis that reflects the current state and trends for product lines and various products
• Implement changes to the data collection methods within PLEX to ensure that key financial information is readily available and easily assessable.
• Lead the budget development process, and monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
• Provide ROI analysis and recommendations for key projects, in particular new product developments, product redesigns, etc.
• Prepares cost estimates of new or custom products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts
• Conducts product line analysis for management review
• Maintains responsibility for routine compilation of parts manufacturing costs for payroll, inventory accountability, distribution of factory labor, verification of actual costs and computation of variances
• Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
• Checks and clears data on labor and materials costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit and loss adjustments
• Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation to department managers
• Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs
• Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position
• Maintain responsibility for all fixed asset accounting and monthly depreciation
• Ensure compliance with all required bank reporting including but not limited to financial reporting, covenants, and borrowing base calculations
• Supervise the accounting team both domestically and internationally

Other Responsibilities
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
• Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the Accounting Department
• Assist Accounting Manager as needed with all accounting operations, including standard cost changes, BOM rolls, reconciling inventory to general ledger, Fixed Assets, and Revenue.
• Review weekly cash projection reports, as well as, report on the cash position of the company
• Review monthly financial and operating statements and analyze variances
• Assist with the annual tax preparation for the CPA
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
• Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which EOT may enter
• Assist with the preparation of financial documents and work with CPA on annual review
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• MBA Degree in Business or Accounting related field preferred
• 10 years of hands-on accounting experience required
• 4 years of experience managing accounting staff preferred
• CPA certification preferred
• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting is required
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems is required
• Excellent analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail
• Domestic and international travel up to 10%
