Job Description

Project Superintendent – Commercial Project experience


Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and supervises all crews and personnel onsite, oversees quality of construction and work.
Executes the proper performance of construction activities in accordance with contract specifications, drawings, schedule, budget, company policies, industry standards, applicable codes and requirements including OSHA guidelines.
Executes and manages all site safety activities
Executes all activities with the utmost care in order to avoid damage and interference to third party properties and existing utilities.
Generates daily reports and time sheets
Provides technical guidance and direction to construction personnel
Provides proper utilization, task assignment and supervision of assigned resources (labor, equipment, material, subcontractors, etc.) in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Coordinates and maintains schedule of all work
Assists the Project Manager in all aspects of the project
Manages and supervises subcontractor work including underground utilities, electrical, maintenance of traffic, concrete paving and asphalt paving.
Inspects and approves work performed, and materials supplied
Reviews and interprets plans, specifications and other contract documents related to all work on the project.

• At least 7+ years of building construction experience required.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs.
• Knowledge of scheduling software desirable.
• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of accounting and cost control procedures.
• Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
• Must have a diverse background of experience, including High Rise construction, Class A office building construction.
