Job Description

Seeking Chemical Plant Process Engineer with additional EHS responsibilities (25%)
Provide process engineering and technical support for production of specialty chemicals.
Serve as site Process Safety Coordinator. Perform environmental reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Support and advance the site safety culture
• Optimize plant processes with a goal of maximizing throughput, minimizing cost, and enhancing product quality
• Participate in capital project planning to ensure proper process design and equipment specification
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Production
• Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems
• Support new product introduction and technology transfer
• Serve as site leader for all aspects of process safety
• Manage all aspects of the site Process Safety program and ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Management of change (MOC) process
- Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment
- Audit process safety-related policies and systems
- Maintain Product Safety Information (PSI) files
- Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSUSR)
- Conduct operator PSM and RMP training as required
- Lead investigation and resolution of process incidents
• Ensure compliance with site environmental regulatory requirements. Compile data and submit reports for the following:
- SARA 312; SARA 313 (TRI); Air permit; RMP submission
• Prepare and submit company annual environmental report
• Assist with creation of SOPs and COPs for new and existing equipment and processes as needed

Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years’ process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related field

Must be eligible to work in the US (without sponsorship and be living in the US)
