Job Description


Area : Memphis, TN

Description: Our client is a leading charter school organization dedicated to transforming the face of public education in historically under-served areas. They are seeking a mission-driven Director of Schools based in Memphis to supervise, coach, and evaluate five principals across the charter school's network. This person will work closely with the organization's leadership team to support the development and execution of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure achievement with the organization's values
- Collaborate with the organization's leadership team to create and executive strategic goals
- Provide individual coaching, professional development, and annual evaluation to school leaders
- Support principals in the execution of all aspects of schooling
- Collaborate with Executive Director to lead school oversight and evaluation processes
-Interpret, develop, and recommend policies and regulations that govern the overall operation of schools
- Ensure school compliance with local policies and regulations, state requirements, and organization's core values
- Communicate with stakeholders, community members, and authorizers as necessary
- Collaborate with Education Team on staff development for teachers and school leaders
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement to ensure schools are fully enrolled with strong partnerships
- Collaborate with Human Capital team to ensure that schools are fully staffed with effective team members
- Collaborate with the Finance & Operations team to ensure that spending aligns with strategic initiatives and facilities are safe and conducive to learning

Qualifications:
- Valid Administrator credential required
- Principal experience required, with demonstrated success in closing the achievement gap (3 years minimum)
- Principal experience at the middle or high school level required
- Extensive experience in staff development, teacher coaching and instructional delivery best-practices that translate to student achievement
- Proven record of improving student achievement by developing and implementing policies and practices that prepare all students, irrespective of socio economic background and English language development
-Possesses the political and social skills that contribute to the successful growth of the organization and ensure the maintenance of high quality teaching and learning
- Demonstrated success in aligning curriculum, instruction, technology, and assessment to state standards
- Able to balance the need for direction at the system level with the need for a strong sense of ownership and responsibility at the school level
- Is a visionary and an innovator who sets high expectations, leads by example and inspires high quality performance
- Keeps the interests and needs of student learning as the central focus for the work of the organization
- Has a passion for achieving the educational mission of the organization
- Is a self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability and responsibility that can work well in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Willing to continually learn and collaborate with all stakeholders - a very good listener
