Job Description

Financial Services in Southwest Houston is searching for an Application Developer - Support person with skills in SQL and C# to provide troubleshooting and technical support to their systems.

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
• Typically requires 5-8 years of related work experience

Mandatory Experience and Skills:
• Level 3 Application Support role.
• SQL knowledge is a must
• C# is mainly what is used
• Coding will most likely not be necessary, but it is a plus.
• Requires comprehensive knowledge within own discipline and broad knowledge of disciplines within own function
• Performs specialized assignments; leads others to solve complex problems and develop non-traditional solutions
• Works independently; may require guidance in highly complex situations
• Work directly with end users to troubleshoot issues and outages.
• Make database updates and perform testing in lower environments as well
• Good troubleshooting

Duties and responsibilities:
• May write code using lower-level and/or higher-level languages
• Develops and/or modifies systems for use internally
• Conducts requirements gathering and analysis
• Translates/compiles into machine language for use on specific hardware
• Supports testing, deployment, and maintenance activities by correcting programming errors and coding software enhancements
• Implements strategies to increase reliability and decrease cost
• Maintains processes for internal operational effectiveness
• Develops, implements and supports a variety of technologies
• Maintains excellent working relationship with 3rd Party vendors
• Maintains centralized reporting and management for applications and services
• Implements strategies to increase reliability and decrease cost for technologies
• Documents environments and check accuracy
• Implements processes for internal operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
• Ensures data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Provides technical guidance to service partners as needed
• Participates in 24x7x365 enterprise operational support as required
• Provides support to remote data center facilities as requested
• Implements processes for internal operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
• Generates reports from information gathered from metrics
• Assists with preparation of documentation, user guides, and training materials
• Assists with communication of process changes, enhancements, and modifications so solutions are understood
• Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of enterprise server storage and networking hardware and technologies, Enterprise level IT processes and procedures such Ticketing, Change Control, and other ITIL processes
• May work with R&D of new designs and technologies, monitoring/improving systems performance and maintaining disaster recovery readiness and procedures
• May work closely with the Operations teams to identify gaps and implement solutions to drive improvements in reliability, performance and availability
• Maintain systems health to ensure reliability

Contract Assignment:
This is a 6-month W2 contract assignment with the possibility to go perm.
