Job Description

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Project Engineer-Electrical:
Provide overall project management and detailed electrical design engineering for various projects across the facility including capital investments and major maintenance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Providing detailed electrical design engineering for assigned projects, and support for projects managed by mechanical engineers in the mills engineering department.
● Review equipment specifications and evaluate alternatives that most economically capture opportunities.
● Provide detailed project scope and estimates for proposed projects.
● Develop accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures.
● Develop conceptual plans and project schedules for capital and major maintenance projects.
● Manage request for quotes, labor & material purchases, and invoice payments.
● Manage project construction with both in house and contracted labor.
● Ensure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example.
● Provide accurate project management accounting and schedule adherence.
● Leadership and coaching in design and construction with long term reliability as a goal.
● Working with internal customers including operations, maintenance and engineering staff to develop opportunities to improve the mills competitive position.
● Ability to successfully lead project teams.
● Support maintenance teams by providing troubleshooting skills from an engineering perspective.
● Support manufacturing operation activities with engineering expertise and leadership in solving and improving the processes and procedures in the Mill. :

Basic Qualifications of the Senior Staff Project Electrical Engineer:
● B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
● A minimum of 3 years of project management and design experience in an industrial setting.
● Ability to use computer assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD.
● Knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and the ability to learn various PC-based production applications

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Staff Project Electrical Engineer:

● 5 years project management and design experience in the pulp and paper industry with a background in electrical power and controls.
● Knowledge of arc flash requirements, NFPA and all OSHA electrical compliance standards, and familiar with the NEC code.
● Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC’s. Allen Bradley Control Logix, Siemens TI, and Honeywell IPC 620 a plus.
● Ability to program HMI’s. Allen Bradley Panelview and Cutler Hammer Panelmate a plus.
● Familiar with AC and DC drives. Allen Bradley Powerflex 700, and Siemens 6SE70 & 6RA70 series a plus.
