Job Description

Our client, a growing pharmaceutical company, is currently hiring! The team is now looking for an HR Director for the growing Commercial Division/ Sales Force human resources needs. This position is office based in Orange County and relocation assistance is available.

Overall Purpose:
Responsible for strategic human resources planning to recruit, develop and retain employees in the US commercial organization to meet the company’s objectives. Also, responsible for organizational development programs for US employees.

Duties & Responsibilities:
As a member of the HR team, serve as trusted advisor/coach to employees and managers across the current and future US Commercial teams including Sales, Marketing & Market Access departments. Develop strategic programs to address group dynamics, career development and leadership style, employee relations, and growth initiatives.

Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, administration and auditing of the human resources function for US Commercial employees including company policies and procedures, compensation and benefits, employment, training, employee relations and regulatory compliance.

Direct Responsibilities:
• The assessment of the organizational and professional needs of employees and managers, and working with training on the design and the delivery of training and development programs for the Commercial organization.
• Development and implementation of required tools, and systems to enhance our leadership programs.
• 30%-40% travel required
• Member of the overall HR team and back-up for other HR generalist functions, as needed. Partner closely on overlapping HR matters to ensure that consistent overall leadership to the Commercial team aligns with the Corporate and EU programs.
• Development of staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent for the company’s open commercial positions. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long -range planning of new programs and strategies on the attraction, motivation, development and retention of these resources of the company.
• Continually assessing the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
• Acting as senior level HR advisor for the team on human resources issues.
• Working with Sales Operations on development of progressive compensation programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
• Establishing credibility throughout the organization as an effective listener and problem solver at all levels.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Technical Skills:
a. Proficient in leading and performing HR functions with a special emphasis on employee relations and communication, talent management, succession planning, and career development
b. Strong working knowledge of current legal & compliance requirements for CA and other states.
c. Demonstrated skills in conducting training and development programs and successfully linking OD and business strategy leading to recognized business and organizational outcomes.
d. A minimum of 8+ years HR experience managing sales forces of 100+ including change management, organizational design, diagnosis, and development.
e. Ability to manage corporate resources and budget to support employee productivity.
f. Computer proficiency, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

g. Conduct and/or manage multiple projects with efficiency and effectiveness
Education and experience:
• BA/MA/MBA or equivalent in HR with more than 8 years increasingly responsible experience advising senior management; Master’s degree preferred
• Certification in HR (PHR, SPHR, SHRM) and/or OD a plus
• Pharmaceutical experience strongly desired
