Job Description

General Description:
The ideal candidate is a CPA with extensive public accounting experience in both tax and accounting. Must have strong client relationship experience work in corporate, partnerships, trusts, foundations, and individuals. Additional, subsequent time spent in industry is preferred as well as real estate and/or investment company experience.

Company/Structure:
• We are an active family office supporting first to third generation members and planning for future continuity
• Widespread investments in flow-through entities
• The office is responsible for complex liquidity needs and reporting for multi -generational family financial goals and operations
• Financial and tax reporting is required for a large number of underlying investment entities including trusts and a family foundation
o Outside accounting firm will assist with tax preparation including estimates and returns, but much of the preparation work is done in-house
o All analysis of financial results will be done in-house with the assistance of outside accounting and investment advisors

Reports To:
• Reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will have direct and routine interface with Principal family member who serves as the President and CEO

• Must have keen business and personal acumen to work competently with high-level professionals, trustees, and family members

Essential Duties:
• Serve as a trusted advisor to family office on strategic, operational, and financial matters
• Direct tax compliance and consulting services for multi-generational families
• Manage external tax service providers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax compliance and reporting outputs
• Provide analyses of financial, gift, estate, and income tax issues for ultra-high net-worth individuals and families
• Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
• Build, manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagement teams while maintaining active communication with clients in an effort to manage expectations and help ensure client satisfaction

Qualifications:
• Active CPA required
• 8+ years public accounting, industry or family office tax experience
• Strong experience in the review of tax returns for wealthy family members and their trusts, investment entities, private businesses, and knowledge of asset management firms
• Experience in real estate and/or investment companies preferred
• Successful candidates will possess ability to plan client engagements, provide tax consulting services, manage compliance projects, supervise and review work of team staff members, work closely with clients as well as internal partners
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information and tax law
