Job Description

Our client, a nationally acclaimed interdisciplinary research center in Mississippi is strategically adding a long-term, career-oriented up and coming software project manager responsible for web and mobile application solutions in an agile, continuous integration environment.

Our client is a niche player in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning spaces with a highly skilled team of researchers, data scientists and software professionals delivering the best-of-class data, software applications and tools specific to the social sciences space (healthcare, workforce, education, demographics, addiction, discrimination, etc.) used by local, state and federal agencies and gaining traction internationally.

You will have: Bachelor's degree. Good written and oral communication skills. Good reasoning and problem-solving skills. Ability to motivate groups and resolve conflicts. The ability to achieve Certified Scrum Master status within six months of hire date. Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point)

What will make you stand out: Experience with software project management, understanding of Agile Scrum. GIT SVN code repositories. Atlassian products (Jira, Bamboo, Confluence, Fisheye, Crucible) to manage a software development process. Creating wireframes and process diagrams using LucidChart or Balsamiq. A knowledge of database principles, basic SQL, and data architecture.

- Title: Software Project Manager (early career)

You will: Facilitate an agile software development process by coordinating software development activities to ensure that tasks are completed and the task backlog is emptied according to the project work plan and changing customer requirements. Develop documentation, software work plans, and keep documentation up to date. Assist with internal and external project communication. Use email, web-based project management tools, real-time chat tools, and in-person meetings to support the self-organization of the software development team. Coordinate deployment process for development, quality assurance testing, and user-acceptance testing environments. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and assist other managers in estimating completion dates and resource allocation. Proactively collaborate with all internal stakeholders to identify, define or solve project problems. Provide technical assistance and resolution for any project-specific problems.
