Job Description


Our fast-growing, Northern California Bay Area retail client is seeking a highly-promotable Senior Indirect Global Strategic Sourcing Professional to lead strategic sourcing projects procuring the best services and products at the most competitive cost. The role will begin as a Sr. Manager with the expectation of being promoted to Director and beyond overseeing an indirect sourcing category cluster.

Retail store operations sourcing, such as for fixtures, janitorial, security, landscape and other CAPEX / OPEX sourcing experience is a significant plus but not a requirement

Tier-1 management consulting experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong quantitative and relationship-building skills, along with a history of advancement and tenure are very highly desired.

Relocation assistance is approved.

• BA/BS in Business, Economics, Accounting or Engineering. An advanced degree is a plus.
• Mandarin Chinese language skills is a plus.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of strategic sourcing experience. Multi-category sourcing experience required (Indirect or Direct), including sourcing of both products and services.
• Management Consulting experience preferred; experience in Retail is a plus.
• Contract writing and management experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Occasional international and domestic travel required with advanced notice given.
• Experience in working with raw material/market indices.
• Must have a data-driven approach to solving problems.
• Requires very strong quantitative skills and a good sense of how to dissect problems.
• Must have very close attention to details and the drive to get things right with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently and keep a high level of focus.
• Must be able to listen, understand, and communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
• Needs to be able to build effective working relationships within the company.
• Travel to typically include 2-3 trips to Asia and 5-6 domestic trips per year
