Job Description

Tech Support applicants must be knowledgeable on the usage and support of Windows and Mac laptops and desktops, plus software that runs on those platforms.

This position is an on-site role with some very local travel to other offices. Masks should be worn when social distancing is not an option and when around additional staff. PPE will be provided.

This is a contract position (approximately 4 months with extension possibility) in Augusta Maine. Local candidates are highly preferred and C2C situations not considered (individual 1099 is acceptable).

Tech Support Experience Required:
• 1-3 years in relevant positions
• 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study role strongly preferred
• Ability to perform work requiring lifting up to 50 lbs. and/or physical exertion may be required, this work may require crawling, climbing, kneeling, and the ability to grasp small objects with both hands.

Tech Support Responsibilities:
• Perform a full range of computer administration functions with minimal direction and/or technical support.
• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, software and other associated hardware connected to a user’s device. Install and configure internal hardware components such as memory, disk, in PCs to maintain or enhance system operation and capabilities.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and vendor technical liaison functions.
• Design and implement trouble shooting and correction plans, develop and coordinate user training programs and document all processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with Technical Architecture Specialist, Functional Architects, Programmers and vendors to coordinate and enhance the use of the platform and facilitate migration to new versions of the platform.
• Assist in coordination of testing changes, upgrades and new software products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment.
• Make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the environment.
• Participate in performance and volume analysis and design.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises to ensure preparedness in the event of an emergency.
• Maintain IT security standards as well as customer confidentiality.
• Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine applicability and value to agency operations.
