Job Description

We are seeking an AM Commissary Driver  at our Evergreens Downtown Washington Commissary.
This position drives the refrigerated commissary delivery van, loading, moving, and unloading products, groceries, and other materials from one location to another.
• Plans and completes an efficient delivery route for the day.
• Loads commissary products, groceries, and other materials for delivery.
• Delivers product to the correct address. Unloads product and obtains proof of delivery when necessary.
• Obeys laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Advises and communicates with clients on unloading and placement of products.
• Notates food product disposition on item tag.
• Maintains a record of products delivered including disposition of food products.
• Regularly communicates receive and update status with Production Lead.
• Advises clients of inventory updates and changes, materials requiring special handling, and/or materials unable to pick up as requested.
• Assesses building spaces, including rooms, hallways, and/or elevators, and materials to be moved for damage before moving. Documents any pre-existing damage.
• Performs pre-trip vehicle inspections and minor service on an assigned vehicle, (e.g. tire pressure, windshield fluid). Cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle as needed.
• Reports any equipment, material, building, and/or vehicle damage immediately to General Manager.
• Safely operates material handling equipment used in moving and transporting food products, equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Notifies General Manager or Production Lead when a job will take longer than anticipated.
• Notifies Production Lead immediately if daily work assigned will not be completed, additional staffing is needed, or the job needs to be rescheduled.
• Reports any unfinished jobs directly to the Production Lead and Scheduler.
• Provides accurate documentation as requested.
• Communicates customer feedback and provides feedback to supervisor and lead regarding moving operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.

• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
• Ability to manage stressful situations and changing priorities effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise professionalism, including tactful and courteous communication with clients, vendors, and fellow employees.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid state driver’s license, and excellent driving record required.
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
