EVERGREENS ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
We are seeking Leadership positions in Downtown Seattle and the Portland Areas

JOB DESCRIPTION
 Leads store operations in conjunction with the General Manager and achieves results by optimizing talent and resources. Engages and inspires their team with clear direction and follow-through on the Evergreens mission, vision, and values. Models the ultimate hospitality mindset to ensure the guests are receiving the Evergreens experience with every visit. Participates in Management training with the goal of being able to execute all General Manager responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES
• Prepares food according to Evergreens recipes and standards including paring fruits and vegetables, producing large batch salad dressing, pickling vegetables, and assembling salads and wrap fillings.
• Sets up and breaks down the workstations according to Evergreens’ standards.
• Restocks and rotates stations according to Evergreens’ standards.
• Prepares food orders for guests using Evergreens’ recipes and standards.
• Provides menu information to customers, including explanations of ingredients and preparation methods.
• Safely handles knives and operates food production equipment.
• Accepts payments by operating point of sale systems, taking payments, and making change.
• Clears, cleans, and sanitizes tables.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains cleanliness of work areas, surfaces, utensils, equipment, and dishes.
• Adheres to all food handling and safety regulations throughout the kitchen and restaurant.
• Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
• Prevents the spoilage of ingredients through proper storage in designated containers and designated areas.
• Reports safety issues or operational problems to management.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to management.
• May participate in inventory.
• Identifies production needs and notifies Production Lead in advance of expected shortages.
• Manages time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
None required. Previous food preparation experience preferred.

• Basic understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.

Operations
• Directs and contributes to food preparation and storage to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Conducts daily inspections of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Receives and reviews incoming orders for accuracy and product quality.
• Handles knives and operates food production equipment safely.
• Prepares food orders for guests according to Evergreens’ recipes and standards.
• Ensures that all meal and rest breaks are provided and reported.
• Organize and oversee staff schedules.
• Enforces proper cash handling procedures. Balances cash on hand with End of Day report and reviews manager log and cash deposits from prior day.
• Makes informed decisions and can realign processes in response to changing business needs and corresponding metrics.

Qualifications:
Experience/Skills
• 2+ years of customer service required.
• Experience with cash handling and reconciling daily deposit required.
• Previous progressive experience as a shift lead, key employee, or manager.
• Appropriate state food handler’s card required
Certificates and Licenses
• Appropriate state food handler’s card required.
• ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Kneeling to reach low storage and refrigeration.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Fast-paced lunch and dinner rushes demand constant multi-tasking in a fluctuating environment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on store needs.
