Job Description

Title:  IT Support Specialist
Job Description:  
We are a growing mid-size pharmaceutical company looking for a technician to perform onsite support.  Our organization is approx. 200 users, all located at the same site.  We are looking for someone to cover our morning / day shift and have a short overlap with our night shift technician. 
As a mid-size business, you will have the ability to work with a very wide range of technical areas and job duties.  At sometimes you may be performing help-desk type troubleshooting, while at other times you may be working with larger networking projects.
Key Position Requirements:
• 5+ years cumulative network experience with LAN network support of 100 or more computers in a windows-based environment 
• Experience setting up new Server, Switching, and other network backbone equipment
• Ability to prioritize severity of incoming tickets and multi-task when needed
• Physical requirements include lifting equipment, bending, utilizing ladders and more
• Work schedule 12:00pm-8:30pm Monday-Friday with some remote / on call work for emergencies
• Good communication skills with on-site and remote management teams
• Ability to handle a diverse set of tasks (Some low level and some high level)
Responsibilities, Skills and Knowledge Requirements include:
• Manage ticketing system, support requests will be communicated via: Phone Call, Text, Email, Instant Message, In-Person, etc.
• Ability to identify and remediate underlying technical issues which are causing repeat tickets
• Setting up new Server, Switching, and other network backbone equipment (Racking, console access, initial config, etc.)
• Setting up physical workstations including: Desktops, Laptops, Docking Stations, Monitors, Keyboard/mouse, VOIP Phones,
• Setting up Windows workstations with software appropriate to an employee’s position: ERP, Document Tracking, Office, Printing, File Sharing, Etc.
• Productive when working independently (Self-starter)
• Ability to update and maintain network documentation as you make changes
• Understanding of Switching and LAN concepts (DHCP, DNS, Routing / Switching, SSH, etc.)
• Understanding of Windows 10 operating system installations, management, maintenance, and support.
• Ability to manage Windows Active Directory
Additional skills, preferred but not required:
• Experience with tasks such as: Hanging TVs, Running / Terminating CAT5e cables, Instilling Cameras, Etc.
• Basic understanding of AC and DC electricity under 120V
• Experience with managing a large number of printers (Laser, Thermal Printers, Copiers, etc.)
• VOIP and Video security system support
• Manufacturing / 24x7 plant operations experience a plus
• Microsoft Office 365 support
• Microsoft Office Suite management on workstations
• As a Pharmaceutical company we have several specialty systems, including: Lab systems, serialization systems, Quality systems, etc. Any experience supporting these types of systems / applications is a plus
Educational Preferences (Not Required):
• Any of the following certifications: A+, Network+, MCSE, CCNA
• 2-4 year degree in Technology or Information Systems fields
