Job Description
Job Description: Packaging Technician
RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:
• positioning and securing all rails
• setting up heat sealer, cap tightener, and labeler (including lot # and expiration date in hot stamp) in
• liquid packaging
• setting up unscrambler, king counter, cottoner, capper, heat sealer and labeler (including lot # and expiration date in hot stamp) in dry packaging.
• preparing operation and cleaning equipment history log books
• preparing ‘packaging in process’ labels (labeling equipment)
• preparing ‘in process’ boards
• preparing time sheets and pallet forms
• preparing liquid volume / weight sheet (in liquid packaging)
• preparing fill / count sheet (in dry packaging)
• preparing ‘amount of liquid available to package’ form (in liquid packaging)
• adjusting weights and fill counts
• applying inserts to bottles
• inspecting labeled bottles for accuracy (and seal checks in dry packaging)
• inspecting for labels and inserts before shrink wrapping trayed products
• Serializing and boxing finished product and also filled box checking in preparation for shipping
• completing operation and cleaning equipment history log books
• documenting liquid volume / weight sheets (including seal checks in liquid packaging)
• documenting fill / count sheet according to amount of bottle fill (in dry packaging)
• completing time sheets
• filtering ‘end of run’ liquid (in liquid packaging)
• repouring all rejected labeled bottles
• emptying all components from equipment
• counting / weighing wasted components from run
• weighing returning / retaining components from run
• dismantling equipment in preparation of cleaning
• cleaning all equipment and lines according to S.O.P’s.
• cleaning the floor and removing trash
• cleaning tables, carts and utensils
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
• Second Shift - 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; Schedule is Monday - Friday (possible weekends as needed, and/or Overtime)
Job Type: Full-time 80 hours a week for both Shifts
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
• Simple math
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Team player
• Dependable and reliable
• Detail oriented and quality conscious
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prolong standing
