Job Description

JOB TITLE: Process Technician

REPORTS TO: Blow Molding Group Leader/ Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: The process technician works within quality guidelines to meet or exceed continuous improvement goals and objectives. The technician is responsible for the proper set-up, operation, production, training and assignments of a work shift in the Blow Molding Department.

• Performs machine change-overs including color changes, and mold/tooling changes.
• Diagnoses problems, makes adjustments and minor repair, required to keep line and equipment operating, corrects machine issues using root cause analysis
• Optimize machine cycle times by product
• Controls correctness and quality of all materials to ensure high quality end product
• Monitor and control product weight, product color and product part thickness
• Develop and document molding processes assuring their continuity
• Minimize molding defects through process improvements and the implementation of a formal corrective action process.
• Trains, assigns and directs production personnel.
• Performs any of line operations required to maintain flow of production.
• Trains assistant Lead Set-Up person in all of his/her duties.
• Maintains open line of communication with all employees
• Performs work order reporting and completions in JD Edwards.
• Promotes safety in the workplace ensuring quality testing and inspections are completed
• Performs basic problem solving using the understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics

• Good communication skills that include ability to read, write, and speak English.
• High Mechanical Aptitude
• Equivalent of a High School diploma.
• Training in Blow Molding Technology.
• Experience using JD Edwards
• Supervisory skills and training.
• Four to five years progressive experience in Blow Molding / manufacturing setting
• One to three years experience directing a shift or small department.

• Problem Solving – Demonstrates the ability to foresee problems and prevents them by taking action.
