Job Description

The Controller will manage all aspects of the Finance departments accounts payable, monthly and yearly close out, financial reporting, budgeting and financial projections, under the direction of the CFO. Acts as the conscience of the department which involves fiduciary responsibilities, business process improvement and challenging the thinking/decisions of the Finance team. This individual is responsible for establishing and implementing short term team objectives/goals and enforcing company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Has the fiduciary responsibility of enforcing the operating procedures and polices establish by Stylecraft.
Must fully understand all aspects of the computerized accounting system (Newstar) and utilize the system to its full capabilities.
Responsible for oversight of month-end closeout process – including corporate allocation, prepaid expense entries, reconcile closed job report, reconcile loan draws, COGS process, and other journal entries as needed.
Will support the CFO as requested in the preparation and reliability of all financial budgets.
Requires exceptional knowledge in using Excel and Excel Pivot tables, to assist with the creation of reports and budgets
Financial modeling and projections for homebuilding company
Supports Management decision making with various managerial accounting and operational reports.
Prepares and distributes monthly financial reports to CFO and banking officers
Prepare and distribute quarterly banking compliance certificates
Review monthly sales commissions calculation for payroll.
Review all bank reconciliations
Review and handle cash needs and cash transfers for each entity
Assist with year-end financial audit, general liability audit, and other audits as needed.
Assist management with the hiring and training of staff
Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of direct reports.
Conduct performance evaluations.
Partners with CFO and Human Resources to implement employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Financial Accountant is expected to be available, at a minimum on Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics or economics with a minimum of (10) years working experience; OR
Master’s degree in a related field
Residential construction, banking, or real estate experience is preferred
Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
Extensive working knowledge of Excel; required
Is a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to self -motivate, perform work accurately and thoroughly.
