Job Description

Regional Specialty Chemicals / Active Ingredients Account / Sales Managers: (not commodity chemicals; multiple clients)
Must live in those areas, preferably close to a major airport (50% travel).

To achieve budgeted targeted sales and/or market share in identified markets and key growth accounts, by managing Company business efforts directly and/or as a growth coach/mentor to commercial peers. This includes managing sales, marketing and technical efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and achieving overall market growth objectives. Focus is to be a Technical Resource - Speak Chemistry to Specialty Chemical Manufacturers, Distributors & Blenders. Our client manufactures specialty chemicals/key ingredients/intermediates in the Midwest or Northeastern US. Targeting chemical manufactures of:water treatment; biocides/corrosion inhibitors/dispersants; personal care; detergents/surfactants/cleaning; mining; oilfield; lubricants; metal working fluids; flame retardants; plastic additives; synthetic and natural. Client companies range in size and locations.

BS/MS in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar technical background with demonstrated ability to apply scientific and selling principles. Proven hands-on ability with standard commercial environment. 5+ years sales experience
Must have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to interface effectively with multiple levels of the scientific, plant, marketing, and purchasing personnel of customers.
MUST have sound knowledge of chemistry. Would like expertise in industrial water treatment marketplace, technology and practice, and broad familiarity with the commercial uses of scale inhibitors, biocides and corrosion inhibitors in this area. Sales or marketing experience with polymer additives and broad knowledge of water additives technology is desired.
Would like sound knowledge of biocide technology and practice, and broad familiarity with the commercial uses of these products. Sales or marketing experience with industrial biocides and broad knowledge of applications for these products in the water treatment industry is desired.
Ability to lead/coach/mentor sales peers to ensure/drive growth in developing markets.
*Account management to enhance relationships (existing: large/small) * Interact with Business Development Group for new products/industries/clients * Technical Competence to truly assist clients needs now and in the future *Must be well organized, motivated and ethical * Travel 50% in region
