Job Description


This clinical supervisor is responsible for maintaining the quality and effectiveness of clinical services. The position incorporates direct staff supervision and a range of administrative tasks related to clinical operations. The clinical supervisor exercises initiative and judgment in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the treatment program.


1. Regular direct observational supervision of clinical services.
2. Ensures adherence to program policies and procedures related to clinical operations.
3. Monitors the quality and effectiveness of clinical services.
4. Assures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for client care.
5. Conducts personnel management activities including recruitment, hiring, and training and performance evaluation.
6. Adjusts staffing pattern as required to assure coverage of clinical services as specified in the treatment service schedule.
7. Assist Program Director in assuring that all program resources are utilized appropriately, according to organization and regulatory guidelines.
8. Provides individual and group supervision for CASAC Counseling Staff in conformance with agency policy.
9. Ensures that the treatment staff maintains accurate and confidential records that comply with all applicable laws, regulations and agency policies.
10. Conducts regularly scheduled utilization reviews, and leads multidisciplinary team meetings.
11. Reviews clinical records to assure regulatory compliance and quality of care.
12. Assures fidelity to evidence based and promising practices, including Wellness Self-Management, SPECTRM and Seeking Safety for Men.
13. Work Collaboratively with DOCCS staff.
14. Assist the Program Director in planning, developing and delivering training to maintain and improve staff proficiency.


1. Requires NYSED issued license (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, etc.) or CASAC credential recognized as a Qualified Health Professional by funder.
2. Five years work experience in provision of chemical dependency treatment services, including two years of experience providing services to criminal-justice involved patients and two years of experience providing direct clinical supervision in a chemical dependency treatment services program.
3. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a human services discipline are preferred.
