Job Description
Data Analyst
General Summary
As the first Data Analyst at AllianceHCM, you will work daily with leadership, product managers, software development engineers, marketing, sales and finance to offer insights and drive innovation. Your role will be highly dynamic. You will help multiple teams monitor their business impact. You will create the business metrics Alliance leadership uses to make informed decisions and help product owners and go-to-market teams define and improve the value proposition they are creating. You will derive insights that will impact the overall company.
The ideal candidate should love working in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about making judgments from data findings. They should be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and teams. They should have a strong track record of learning in a role and a willingness to adapt to change. They are naturally curious and inquisitive, and you enjoy thinking up and trying out new ideas. Reports To
The role is based in The Woodlands, TX and candidates should expect to work from The Woodlands office at least 3 days per week. The role reports to the company’s VP of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the creation, automation, and maintenance of the necessary tools, reports, and analysis to accomplish the revenue objectives.
• Design, create and maintain weekly, monthly and annual leading indicator metrics to guide decisions across Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Help Desk
• Work directly with software engineering teams and data engineers to build and refine data elements.
• Utilize business intelligence systems and processes to enable informed decision making.
• Provide analysis and financial modeling to support and make recommendations to senior leaders to enable their strategy and market planning in cooperation with finance and the leadership team.
• Engage with the CEO, President and other leaders to answer business questions with data insights.
• Assist the Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Help Desk teams in business analysis.
• Design, implement, and maintain solutions to allow business and tech leadership to quickly deep dive anomalies or interesting findings.
• Lead efforts to standardize processes and systems (e.g. CRM, Marketing Automation, etc.) to enable accurate and efficient data collection and management of the company’s sales efforts
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics or other business/analytical disciplines or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience as data scientist, data engineer, software engineer, business intelligence engineer, or equivalent.
• Advanced Excel skills and intermediate SQL skills
• Proficiency with data mining, coding, query development, and scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, R, SQL, or PL/SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. Quicksight, Tableau).
• Strong track record of continuous learning
• Strong analytical, research, problem solving, and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to identify issues and develop sound, practical, and creative solutions
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in BI, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or other quantitative area.
• Experience using data warehouse or pipeline products (e.g. Redshift, S3, EC2, EMR and others).
• Experience or familiarity with CRM and Marketing automation tool as a support to sales processes
