Product Marketing Manager

The Role
The Alliance Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is a hybrid role; part product manager and part marketer.  The candidate will be equally versed in both disciplines and will have product management responsibilities including leading and managing the product roadmap and developing and leading marketing programs and campaigns to promote our solutions to customers in support of our revenue growth plans.
Reports To
The PMM will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and the Chief Executive Officer.  As the company’s marketing leader, the candidate will work closely with the CRO on go to market strategies and enablement.  As the lead product manager, the candidate will report to the CEO on product strategy.
Job Overview
The PMM’s over-arching objective is to communicate the value of the company’s HCM solutions to the market in order to accelerate sales growth.  The PMM will organize the company’s existing and future products into a coherent portfolio of products focused on the market and manage the portfolio like a “suite” of solutions (in cases of sales to a new customer) or “point solutions” (in cases of selling products into existing customers).  In either case, the PMM, with the CRO, will develop business plan(s), identify key market segments, identify the right positioning by segment, understand the customer buying process, identify the best ways to compete and develop marketing programs to help the company increases it market competitiveness and accelerate sales growth.
The PMM will work closely with executive management as a key member of the team that delivers a highly scalable software platform that meets the evolving needs of our customers as they attract, manage and retain the best possible employees for their business.   
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assists the CRO in developing a market analysis including discover problems in the market that will inform our product strategy, identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market and develop a strategy for winning against the competition, perform an objective analysis of the potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment and define specific plans and budgets for selling our solutions to new customers.
• Solicits and synthesizes all input on product features and priorities from external and internal stakeholders
• Develops and manages the product roadmap and manages the product backlog
• Develops expertise on the customer / buyer / user(s) and creates detailed buyer personas to inform the product and sales strategies
• Develops market intelligence on competitor product positioning and pricing
• Performs win/loss analyses
• Develops and manages the company’s marketing roadmap
• Develops highly effective sales and marketing tools
• Develops marketing and sales campaigns that reflect a deep understanding of the market needs and our products.  Creates content and programs including email campaigns, print campaigns, social media and other online campaigns and website development, among other things.
• Creates and delivers training for the sales and support teams.  Works closely with the CRO and the sales team to identify and anticipate training gaps and equip them with helpful tools and train them on the problems the Company solves for end-users
• Works with third-party resources (such as advertising firms, designers, public relations advisors, analyst relations resources and marketing professionals) to advance marketing goals and actions
• Oversees and maximizes social media exposure for both the Company and its solutions.
Job Qualifications
• Wants to be part of building a large, impactful company and have fun doing it
• Demonstrable experience and a willingness to balance the role of developing practical strategies one day and personally carrying out actions needed to deliver the strategies the next
• Prefer 5+ years of product marketing experience
• Prefer 5+ years of product management experience (technical product management a plus)
• 5-7 years of experience working in a fast-paced, SaaS business model (ERP and/or Enterprise Software).
• Proven competency in writing and editing.
• Human Capital Management B2B software experience a plus
• Proficiency in Salesforce, Pardot and Google Analytics a plus
• Bachelor’s degree is required (MBA a plus)
• Houston-based
